About us.
Our company, Terrapin Travel Co, was formed in February 2018. We are a women-owned and run, small, independent travel agency. Our four travel advisors have a passion for travel and helping clients to experience the world. With the help of trusted relationships through our host agency, KHM Travel Group, we have great knowledge of destinations and have personal connections with representatives that work for our travel suppliers. Terrapin Travel Co prides itself on working with clients from beginning to end. We book all types of travel including all-inclusive resorts, cruises (river and ocean), group trips (leisure and corporate), guided tours (private and group), destination weddings, bespoke international travel, and beyond. In addition to charging a minimal service fee, we get paid a small commission through the travel suppliers we use once clients have completed their travel. We do ask that if we work together and we take the time to research, contact travel suppliers, and provide quotes/proposals that you allow us to book the reservations for you rather than booking on your own or with another travel advisor/agent. You will be provided a list of our service fees after our complimentary discovery call.

I’ve always loved traveling, meeting new people and experiencing new cultures. After teaching for 16 years and raising four kids, I decided to pursue my passion of travel by becoming an agent. After working part time for 8 years with an agency, I decided to open my own. I’m lucky to have gained exposure to so many different types of travel through both my clients as well as personal travel. I’m now eager to share my knowledge with others and make your next trip as stress free as possible!

My passion for travel can be traced back to my childhood days while living in Southeast Asia with my family or traveling during my summers in college. I’ve had the travel bug since the start and have loved traveling with my own family since then. As I have told my boys, ”the world is such a big place and you only have experienced a tiny little piece of it. Everyone who has the opportunity should travel and explore because you will gain such an appreciation of different people, locations, and cultures.” I am excited to help others travel and discover this world by planning your dream vacations, the adventure of a lifetime, a short weekend away, or even just an overnight stay!

My interest in travel started at a young age. Throughout my childhood, my family loved to drive for our vacations. We drove across the country, following Rt. 66, as much as we could. We passed through many little towns and great wide-open spaces. And that travel bug has stuck with me to this day. Because of this love for travel, I decided to start a “second career” as an adviser with Terrapin Travel. With my experience of being the traveler, I know what travelers are looking for. We want to enjoy vacation without having to worry about the hassle of planning everything out. I worked in Customer Service many years ago and know how to keep the client happy. So, with my travel experience, customer service experience and a great company like Terrapin Travel, I plan on providing the very best service out there!

Travel (literally) was my life for 15 years. As a former flight attendant for USAirways, I loved going to new places all over the world. Caribbean and European destinations are my favorite! I honestly thought I would be a flight attendant for the rest of my life. Then life happened, 1st 9/11, then in 2005, I got married and had my daughter. But it wasn’t until 2008 that I had to let go of being a flight attendant and take on the role of being a stay at home mom. I always said if I ever stopped flying, I wanted to stay in travel. So, I decided being a travel agent was the best way to do that. I’m so happy to be back to doing what I love and being a part of such a great team here at Terrapin Travel!

Traveling is among my greatest loves! Another is being a mother of 3 super daughters and a wife to my awesome husband. Working in the world of education, my career included being a program specialist for the MD State Department, a project manager for a task force for a school system, a college professor, and a classroom teacher for over 30 years. After only fitting in trips during summer vacations, I decided it was time to retire from education in 2022. Now I enjoy traveling more freely and supporting the travel agents at Terrapin Travel as an assistant. My experience with managing and scheduling serves to support travel for others very well. I enjoy helping to plan individualized trips for every traveler!
